Lot of 5 Vintage Nancy Ann 5.5" Bisque Storybook Dolls Including Bride
In general, these dolls are in very good condition, but I am SELLING THEM AS IS. Let me know if you need more information or photos.
The legs are fixed in place on all of these dolls, while the arms do move. All of the dolls marked "Story Book Doll" have a safety pin that holds the dolls' dresses together in the back. The unbranded dolls have a staple in the back to hold the dresses together in the back.
The bride doll, the doll in yellow, and the doll in blue all have "Story Book Doll" in raised letters on the doll's back. The other two have no markings that I can find.
    CONDITION
Bride Doll - good condition, except for a 1/8" spot on the right toe where the black paint is missing, and arms that are attached but somewhat loose. The white dress is in excellent condition, but the lacy piece over it has some holes in it.
Doll in Yellow - doll and dress are in excellent condition. Clothing has no tears, holes, or stains. The arms move as designed. There is a gold paper bracelet around the doll's wrist, and half of it is missing.
Doll in Blue - dress is in excellent condition. No tears, holes, or stains. A safety pin holds the dress together at the back; I don't know if this is original or a replacement for a missing snap or hook. The blue hat is made of felt. The doll's arms are loose and don't stay in place. The black paint is missing from a 1/8" spot on the right toe, and from a 1/16" spot on the left toe.
Doll in Pink - unmarked doll. Looks older than the Story Book dolls. The dress has no stains, but the top 1" of the seam of the lacy part on top of the dress has come apart. The doll's hair is a little matted. When you raise one arm, the other arm rises with it; this must be by design, because the other unmarked doll (which looks like the same maker) works the same way. The arms hold their position when raised.
Doll in Gray - unmarked doll. Looks like the same maker as the doll in pink. The dress has one faint 1/4" x 1/4" stain on the back, and the dress has faded on the parts of the dress that are on the outside of the folds. The hat is made of felt and is stapled on. The arms rise and fall together, like the pink doll, and hold their position. The right eye of the doll looks like it is missing a tiny spot of paint.
